Tony BatesJigsaw Galway has moved to an amazing location just off Eyre Square, which previously housed the Habitat store. It’s a bright modern building with loads of space, easily accessible and youth-friendly. We congratulate John Fitzmaurice and his fantastic Jigsaw team in having achieved widespread support for this project, and for having won the trust and respect of young people throughout Co Galway. May you continue to grow in your outreach to young people and their families in the years ahead.

We have just advertised a number of new posts, as part of the government sponsored initiative to establish five new Jigsaw sites. This expansion is happening in close partnership with the HSE. We will very soon be inviting expressions of interest from communities who may wish to develop a Jigsaw support service. Look out for these notices in the media.

Finally, I want to let you know that 16 of our youth advisory panel (YAP) have just completed a course of training in Mindfulness, and that they will be presenting on their experience of this course to a conference in Dublin Castle this month which explores “Mindfulness and Young People”. Some of you may have heard Tim Smyth one of the YAP talking about it recently on the John Murray show on RTE (May 3rd). He was great, and the conference was fully booked out by lunchtime that day, with several hundred now on a waiting list. It should be a great event. We will film our presentation so that you can watch it on our website.
