The most important piece of research ever commissioned by our organisation was launched in May when we published the results of the My World Survey.

The first national study of youth mental health, it is a joint initiative between Headstrong and the UCD School of Psychology.

In June, Headstrong hosted a free open forum with Annie G. Rogers, a professor of psychoanalysis and clinical psychology at Hampsire Cllege in Amherst, USA at the Exchange on Dublin's Lower Gardiner Street.

Developments in Jigsaw

Project managers for four of the new Jigsaw sites - located in Donegal, Clondalkin, Tallaght and Dublin 15 - took up their roles on March 12th. And the Jigsaw Offaly project manager took up post at the end of May. All new staff have been getting up to speed with the work in their Jigsaw sites and connecting in with Headstrong and the team to finalise details on their implementation plans. Read more ...

Community Awareness training launched

The Community Awareness strategy is an important part of Headstrong's work to change the way Ireland thinks about mental health. A new community awareness workshop entitled Supporting Young People's Mental Health has been developed drawing on the results of the My World Survey which will be used to target the natural supports in young people's lives - such as parents, carers, extended family and other figures in the community. Read more...

Think Big is calling on young people to make the msot of their summer holidays this year and submit a project or idea to us.
